Please join us at Moon Palace Books to welcome our esteemed guests: legend Ray Gonzalez, brilliant V.V Sugi Ganeshananthan, and new poetry faculty member & rockstar Douglas Kearney from the University of Minnesota’s MFA Program!! ALSO, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome Brooklyn-based poet & friend Asiya Wadud whose debut poetry collection “Crosslight for Youngbird” (Nightboat Books) was just released on October 2, 2018––hot off the press!!! Read about Asiya’s next two books (!!!) and other amazing projects here.

Each luminous writer will read from their rich body of work, then they will sit with Sun Yung Shin to have a conversation about race, borders & myths, how these things relate to MFA programs, and if MFA programs are just extensions of white supremacy b/c academia & b/c racism. There may also be a post-reading afterparty at an intimate location, TBD.
